According to Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress would launch a public awareness campaign to draw attention to purported voter fraud on Friday from Bengaluru’s Freedom Park.
Mallikarjun Kharge, president of the Congress, attacked the Election Commission of India (ECI) harshly on Thursday, saying it was behaving like a “representative of the ruling party” and that it had failed to fulfill its constitutional obligation to hold free and fair elections.
“The Election Commission of India used to receive international acclaim. Our Election Commission provided instruction to other nations on how to hold free and fair elections. In a post on X that was first published in Hindi, Kharge stated that the Commission would reply to or provide clarification on any issues posed by political parties while staying within the bounds of the constitution.
He claimed that the ECI now acts as a spokesman of the ruling party when someone questions it, making unfounded claims and counter-allegations while ignoring the demands of opposition parties. “Today, Mr. Rahul Gandhi, after thorough investigation, cited examples from Karnataka’s Mahadevapura Assembly Segment, explaining how the Election Commission allowed gross rigging in a single election, shredding its constitutional duties, with 1,00,250 votes stolen,” Kharge said, referring to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s comments regarding alleged electoral irregularities.
According to Kharge, these anomalies were not unique occurrences. He went on to say, “This #VoteChori is strategically occurring across many seats in the country.”
He declared, “The Congress Party will raise public awareness about this,” outlining the party’s next course of action. We will start tomorrow in Bengaluru, Karnataka, in Freedom Park.
“The time has come to save the nation, to save democracy and the Constitution!” the head of Congress added in the post.
said that the Maharashtra election results validated the Congress party’s fear that the polls had been rigged, while speaking to media at the AICC headquarters in New Delhi.
The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha claimed, “The Election Commission (EC) conspired with the BJP to’steal’ Maharashtra elections by failing to provide a machine-readable voter list.”
“They said we are going to destroy the CCTV footage,” he added. We were surprised by this as Maharashtra had a question regarding a large-scale vote after 5:30 p.m. in order for the results to add up. Our guys were aware that nothing of the sort occurred in the polling places. After 5:30 p.m., no significant voting took place.
Gandhi continued, “We were reasonably certain that the Election Commission of India was conspiring with the BJP to rig elections because of these two factors.”
